Latest news - musicians wanted


I am the leader of waterside area youth orchestra. We are looking for more players: violins, violas, cellos and double bass. Grade 1 standard to grade 8. We rehearse every Wednesday from 5:00pm to 6:30pm at Hounsdown School. Although we need to be there a bit early so we can get tuned and set up. It is great fun and we get the chance to play in concerts several times a year. We also do solos and quartets.

This local 5 piece, based around Hythe and Dibden Purlieu, started in the dark days of the Waterside music scene, originally with Ry Hayes as lead vocalist, the only venue they played was the Youth Hut in Hythe, as did many other bands at the time. Nowadays they have a record label and are touring across the country and even in Scotland and Wales. They have played with such bands as Kids in Glass Houses, The Blackout, Attack! Attack! and many more. They have had play time on live television on Ditto Music Live, video below, and also have had a reccomendation from Kerrang! magazine. If you ever get the chance check them out live, as that is where they truly flourish!
